Each of these medications are a botulinum toxin that is injected into the muscle to prevent muscle movement. When muscle movement is decreased, it reduces the appearance of current lines and will prevent further lines from forming. The goal of Botox injections is to create a refreshed and relaxed appearance, NOT to look frozen or expressionless.

On average, the entire treatment is 30 minutes, including the consultation and assessment.

The amount of units needed is customized for each individual. Your provider will assess your face and evaluate the patterns of your facial muscle movements. The location, size and strength of the muscles will determine your dose.

Each area can average as such:

Forehead lines: 12-30 units

Frown Lines (“11 lines"): 14-20 units

Crow’s Feet: 12-30 units

Bunny Lines: 6-12 units

Brow Lift: 4-10 units

Lip Lines: 4-8 units

Lip Flip: 4-8 units

Gummy Smile: 4-8 units

Dimpled Chin: 6-8 units

Masseter (TMJ)/ Face Slimming: 30-50 units

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating): 100 units

You will begin to see results within 3-7 days with full result in 14 days. Botox lasts about 3-4 months.

• Please arrive to your appointment with no make-up on. 
• AVOID alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood increasing the risk of bruising).  
• AVOID anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications ideally for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
• Medications and supplements such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wart, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Vioxx, and other NSAIDS are all blood-thinning medications and can increase the risk of bruising/swelling after injections. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications. 
• Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to any special event. 

• No straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours following treatment.
• You must remain upright for four hours following treatment.
• AVOID massage/manipulation of the area for 24 hours following a treatment (for the same reasons listed above). This includes not doing a facial, a peel, or a microdermabrasion after treatment with Botox®. Any of these procedures can be done in the same appointment only if they are done before the Botox®.
• It can take 2-7 days to take full effect, and in some cases up to two weeks.
